Share my work experience in the UK

The UK is a major hub for the gambling industry, a capital business powerhouse with a variety of physical casinos and online platforms. Major game brands have studios located here, without any issues of legal grey areas.

The job content and the entire production cycle are similar to those in the Philippines, basically involving devising game mechanics, calculating EV, and adjusting values.

Colleagues come from all over the world, naturally communicating in English.

The salary is three times that of domestic ones, but the cost of living also starts at three times higher, and the taxes are notoriously heavy. The actual figures are not mentioned, but the standard of living is roughly equivalent to a domestic monthly salary of 10,000 to 20,000. However, if one really wants to save, it's definitely possible to save more than you could domestically.

The difficulty of obtaining a work visa (skilled worker visa) is ranked (USA > UK > Europe > Southeast Asia). Basically, as long as you pass the interview, most companies of a reasonable size are willing to handle it.

The workday is 7.5 hours, no longer, no shorter, and not much pressure. If there's nothing to do, just brush up on Leetcode, since it all looks similar when you're coding. By around 4 PM, everyone starts heading out.

You get 30 days of annual leave from the start, and taking a week or two off is not discouraged.

It's not too far from Europe, North America, or even Iceland, making travel convenient, and earning pounds and spending euros is like getting a 15% discount.

House prices are roughly the same as domestically, with decent properties available around 3 million, but the mortgage interest rate here is 6%...

Of course, the convenience of daily life is not very great.

The social circle is mostly Chinese, and it's normal to feel lonely sometimes; you need to expand your social circle.

The weather is very cold, even in summer.
