I previously worked at a gambling company in Sihanoukville, Cambodia, and have now returned to share the real situation there, to prevent others from falling into the same trap.

I was hired as a Senior Golang Backend Developer, and they also recruited for PHP, Android, iOS, React, and other positions. However, I must tell you, all the job descriptions provided by this company are fake!

1. False promises, all pitfalls upon joining

During recruitment, they boasted:

✅ Double salary at year-end ➝ False!

✅ 15 days of paid leave after working for six months ➝ False!

Even the CEO and CTO listed on their official website are fabricated, with randomly grabbed images and made-up names, with no way to verify any real information!

2. The office environment is outrageous, worse than a construction site

The modern office buildings and comfortable environments advertised on their official website are all fake. During video interviews with job seekers, they would say:

"We are building a new office, it will look just like the one in the pictures once it's finished."

But what's the reality?

Their so-called "new office" is just a seven-story brick building next to a ruin, with no elevator, almost like a pigsty.

The so-called swimming pool is as disgusting as a septic tank, no one dares to go in.

The so-called basketball court has turned into a mud field, the hoops are all broken, and no one fixes them.

You also have no time to use these facilities, working 996, exhausted to death.

3. Deep tricks in salary payment, ruthless exploitation

The agreed salary was 4000U, to be converted into US dollars in cash based on the exchange rate on the day of payment.

6. Why did I choose to run away?

Many might think, since the salary is high, endure the poor environment a bit, at least you can save some money.

But the problem is, you can't save money, and it's even hard to say if you can get it!

The management finds various reasons to deduct salaries, imposes fines at will, and the money never really reaches your hands.

You could be double-crossed at any moment, or internally sabotaged, becoming expendable at any minute.

There is no legal protection here, and no one cares if you get scammed.

So, after working there for a while, I realized this place is not fit for humans, and before getting completely trapped, I quickly figured out a way to run away.
