A friend from the Philippines, whom I've known for six years and usually hang out with, asked me for money last night. I told him I was also struggling and couldn't lend it to him. When I woke up, I saw he had posted a single bar on his social circle, and then when I messaged him, an exclamation mark appeared and he blocked me.
Honestly, it's not about the money; it just feels bad. Can years of friendship really be erased just because I couldn't lend money? In the Philippines, it seems everyone lives behind a mask. Are these so-called friendships really so worthless?
To be honest, I'm quite heartbroken.

The kind-hearted are ridden by others; you are destined to be ridden by others.
Isn't it true that a good horse is ridden by others?

Hahaha, you still expect to make friends in this godforsaken place in the Philippines? Everyone who comes here has skewed values, including yourself.
Are they so insecure? If you don't lend, they delete you.

I have also experienced this kind of thing.

It really doesn't matter, getting angry over a fool is truly unnecessary.
Why regret someone who can delete you? They never considered you as a friend from the beginning, just as a tool.

He just treats you as a cash cow.
