The Malaysian Immigration Department, in collaboration with the National Registration Department, conducted a raid in upscale residential areas of Kajang and Kuala Lumpur city center, busting an online scam operation and arresting 9 Chinese nationals, 8 of whom are suspected of engaging in telecommunications network fraud.
During the raid, the police seized a large amount of computer equipment, mobile phones, SIM cards, and tools used for committing the crimes. Preliminary investigations indicate that the gang specifically targeted overseas victims for precise scams, and the hideout was disguised as a luxury residence with very strong concealment.
Currently, all 9 individuals have been detained, and the police are further investigating whether they are involved in a larger transnational fraud network.
