The project will begin once the summer season of 2025 ends.
Argentina.- Once the summer season of 2025 concludes, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Services of the Province of Buenos Aires, through the Undersecretary of Public Works and the Provincial Directorate of Architecture, will proceed with the comprehensive refurbishment and renovation project of the promenade and the public spaces shared by the Central Casino and the Provincial Hotel of Mar del Plata.
According to the head of the Buenos Aires infrastructure ministry, Gabriel Katopodis, this project will require an investment of AR$6.775m, and includes the recovery of pavements and urban equipment, the restoration of tiles on the promenade, arcades, and boulevard of the sector of the Provincial Hotel and the Casino, the repair of storm drains, and the installation of new LED lighting along the coast. Stone structures, stairs, and ramps will also be enhanced.
“With these works, we are going to recover a heritage that is a reference and pride of Mar del Plata and also of all Argentinians. We are convinced that in defending the cultural identity of our province we are also building the future,” stated Minister Katopodis, to the media Códigobaires.

Additionally, another highlight will be the restoration of the emblematic sculptures of the sea lions and the extreme monoliths, as well as the stone cladding on the walls that separate the different areas of the complex.
In total, the works will cover 31,500 square meters and will be executed in two stages, starting after the end of the summer season 2025, to avoid interrupting the use of public space and minimize inconvenience for residents and tourists.
It is worth noting that according to information from the Province, the project is part of a management policy called Infrastructure for the System of Cities, which includes works on the cultural and identity heritage of the different regions. The initiative aims at the restoration, refunctionalization, preservation and enhancement of heritage assets, buildings, and historical monuments.
