In April 2025, the American iGaming (online casino) industry once again welcomed a glorious moment. In the seven states where it is legally operated, iGaming's total revenue reached $868.6 million, a 32.5% surge compared to the same period in 2024. Although this figure is slightly lower than the $900 million in March, it has demonstrated market resilience and strong growth momentum. As the demand for convenient, high-quality online entertainment continues to grow, the United States is steadily leading the global iGaming trend.
Looking at the whole year, the US iGaming is expected to generate $26.8 billion in revenue in 2025, a 15% increase from 2024. Despite being open in only a few states, a large user base and technological innovations have driven explosive development. In comparison, the entire US commercial gambling industry generated $72.04 billion in 2024, growing by 7.5%, with iGaming being the most standout sector.
In April, the states performed strongly, with Pennsylvania continuing to lead, achieving iGaming revenue of $282.8 million, a year-on-year increase of 31.3%, and tax revenue exceeding $100 million. Michigan and New Jersey followed closely, with revenues of $248.1 million and $235.2 million respectively. Connecticut, though small, showed rapid momentum, with monthly revenue exceeding $31.6 million, an increase of 38.3%.
Even smaller states like Delaware and Rhode Island are rapidly expanding, with BetRivers and Bally’s driving nearly double the iGaming revenue in April, showcasing the potential of local markets.
The industry's growth is inseparable from technological driving. Mobile gaming, live dealer broadcasts, AI recommendation systems, encrypted payments, and social features are reshaping the player experience. Additionally, operators such as DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, and Bally’s are deepening their market presence through differentiated strategies.
Although currently only seven states have opened iGaming, the future expansion space is huge. Once large states like New York, California, and Florida open up, it will completely rewrite the market landscape. American iGaming is moving towards an unprecedented golden age.
