The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has issued formal cease and desist orders to five illegal online gambling platforms—BoVegas Casino, BUSR, Cherry Gold Casino, Lucky Legends, and Wager Attack Casino—for providing gambling services to Michigan residents without state authorization, in violation of the Lawful Internet Gaming Act, the Michigan Gaming Control and Revenue Act, and the Michigan Penal Code.
MGCB Executive Director Henry Williams stated: "These platforms undermine the legal gambling market and harm consumer rights. We will not tolerate any attempts to circumvent regulation and exploit Michigan players."
The violations by each platform are as follows:
BoVegas Casino: Offers slots and table games, bypassing licensing procedures, without providing fair guarantees for players.
BUSR: Operates sports betting and casino services, lacking basic consumer protection measures.
Cherry Gold Casino: Promotes various games without Michigan state licensing.
Lucky Legends: Promotes a "VIP experience" while avoiding key regulations.
Wager Attack Casino: Operates sports and casino betting without a license, exposing users to regulatory gaps.
The MGCB investigation found that these platforms not only accept bets and deposits from Michigan players but also operate without state oversight, leading to high risks such as inability to cash out winnings, unfair practices, and lack of legal protection in disputes.
Williams added: "These offshore or unlicensed platforms exploit regulatory loopholes to harm players, and we will continue to eliminate such risks to protect the legal gambling environment."
Currently, the MGCB has demanded that the five operators completely cease services to Michigan within 14 days, or further legal action will be taken in conjunction with law enforcement.
