Data released by the Danish Gambling Authority, Spillemyndigheden, shows that in April 2025, the total gambling revenue (GGR) in Denmark increased by 11.6% year-over-year, reaching 665 million Danish Kroner (approximately 103 million USD), primarily due to a significant rise in online casino revenues. Online casinos saw a revenue increase of 21.2% for the month, amounting to 331 million Danish Kroner, significantly outperforming other gambling market segments.

Revenue from physical casinos remained stable at 31 million Danish Kroner, consistent with the previous year, while slot machine revenue slightly declined by 4.1%, to 93 million Danish Kroner. Traditional gambling revenues saw a modest increase of 6.2% year-over-year, reaching 207 million Danish Kroner, with physical bingo games maintaining revenue at the 3 million Danish Kroner level.

The data indicates that 70.6% of betting comes from mobile devices, with desktops accounting for 21%, and physical gambling venues only 9.1%. Player activity peaks mainly over the weekend, with Tuesday ranking third, particularly active for online casinos and slot machines, followed closely by Wednesday.

For the first four months of 2025, the cumulative total gambling revenue reached 2.53 billion Danish Kroner, with online casinos accounting for more than 50.3% of this. The proportion of mobile users continues to rise, reaching 67.9% in April 2025, up significantly from 59% in 2024, while the desktop share has decreased to 32.1%.

Additionally, Denmark now has 60,325 people registered with the self-exclusion service Rofus, and there have been 50 consultations related to the gambling prevention platform StopSpillet. To strengthen regulation, the Danish Gambling Authority has recently partnered with Twitch and joined forces with tech giants like Apple, Google, and Facebook to combat illegal gambling content and promote healthy industry development.
