The Spanish Gambling Authority (DGOJ) has released the "2024 Executive Summary," which reports that the number of active online gambling players reached 1,991,550, a 21.6% increase year-over-year. Males dominate the demographic, accounting for 83.15%; players aged 18 to 45 constitute 85.7%, indicating that the Spanish gambling user base is predominantly young males.

On average, the monthly active online players in Spain number 953,182, with an average active duration of 5.74 months, although 21.9% of players are active for less than a month. In terms of player preferences, gambling games are the most popular, with 1,568,197 players, up 25.4%; casino games grew by 29.2%, and poker by 13%. Overall, 52% of players only participate in one type of game.

In terms of spending, players invest an average of 706 euros (about 810 USD) annually, which is approximately 13.57 euros per week. Male players spend significantly more than females, at 740 euros and 538 euros respectively. The 46 to 55 age group spends the most, averaging 1,146 euros per year, while the 18 to 25 age group spends the least, at just 299 euros.

Regarding profits, 21.3% of players have a positive annual gambling income, with 5% netting more than 489 euros; however, 35% of players lose more than 147 euros.

This data is sourced from the "2024 Spanish National Online Gambling Market Report." The report shows that the total national gambling revenue (GGR) grew by 17.6% year-over-year, reaching 1.45 billion euros (about 1.58 billion USD); both deposits and withdrawals increased by 19.6% and 19.7% respectively. Marketing expenditures saw a significant rise, reaching 526.3 million euros, a 30.4% increase year-over-year. Although marketing has played a role in increasing player numbers, the growth rate of players (21.6%) is still lower than that of marketing expenditures, indicating a discrepancy in investment returns.
