Two 14-year-old teenagers from Puning, Guangdong, are suspected to have been lured by "high-paying jobs" and abducted to a telecom fraud park in Myanmar. Their families received ransom calls demanding over 200,000 yuan, causing widespread public concern.

One of the victim's parents revealed that their child and a friend from the same village lost contact after taking a high-speed train from Shenzhen North Station to Kunming on June 13. A few days later, the family received a call from a stranger claiming to be the "controller," demanding a hefty ransom and stating that the child had been taken abroad and could only be released upon payment. Further investigation by the relatives found that the two were placed in different overseas parks, suspected to be related to a telecom fraud gang.

The family has recently reported the incident to the Gaopu Police Station in Puning City. The police confirmed the incident and initiated a cross-regional case handling mechanism, collaborating with relevant departments to trace clues and striving to rescue the trapped teenagers as soon as possible.

The incident quickly fermented on social media, with many netizens worried: "Middle school students have become targets!" Experts point out that criminals are targeting minors as a new type of victim, deceiving them to go abroad under the guise of recruitment, and call on parents to strengthen summer safety education and improve their awareness of fraud prevention.

The police stated that the case is still under investigation and called on all sectors of society to provide clues to jointly combat cross-border human trafficking and telecom fraud networks.
