On July 17, Wang Wenbin, the Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia, met with Cai Xina Lie, the Cambodian State Minister and Secretary-General of the National Committee for Combating Online Fraud, and clearly expressed China's full support for Cambodia's efforts to combat online fraud crimes. He stated that China will strengthen law enforcement cooperation between the two countries and assist Cambodia in completely eradicating related criminal networks.

Wang Wenbin highly praised the Cambodian government for establishing the National Committee for Combating Online Fraud and Prime Minister Hun Manet's issuance of the "National Unified Clearance Order" on July 14, viewing these actions as reflecting Cambodia's firm will and effective execution in combating telecommunications network fraud. Wang expressed that China is willing to actively cooperate with Cambodia, strengthen law enforcement docking and collaboration, and help maintain national security and public interests.

Cai Xina Lie stated that the Cambodian government will continue to coordinate law enforcement agencies at all levels efficiently through this committee as the core platform, and has prepared for cooperation with multiple countries, including China, to promote the upgrading of cross-border law enforcement docking mechanisms.

In the meeting, both parties fully affirmed the achievements of China and Cambodia in combating cybercrime and exchanged views on law enforcement coordination, information sharing, and personnel repatriation, aiming to establish a closer cooperation mechanism.

On July 14, Prime Minister Hun Manet signed a national unified action directive, ordering all local law enforcement and armed forces to mobilize comprehensively, inspect and eradicate fraud dens area by area, and if necessary, special forces must provide immediate support. The Prime Minister also emphasized that any local officials who fail to execute the order will be held accountable and possibly dismissed.

Against this backdrop, several provinces in Cambodia simultaneously launched large-scale clearance operations on July 16, arresting more than 773 suspects in just one day. The suspects came from mainland China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Myanmar, demonstrating unprecedented law enforcement intensity.
