Betfred announced that it will completely exit the U.S. online sports betting market and will stop its cooperative operation with Wind Creek Bethlehem casino in Pennsylvania on July 31. Wind Creek Bethlehem stated that Betfred had stopped accepting new bets on July 3, and all bets placed on or before July 31 will be settled as usual. Eligible winnings and balances will be automatically returned to player accounts for withdrawal.

In fact, Betfred had already gradually exited other U.S. state markets earlier this year, including Arizona, Colorado, Ohio, Maryland, Virginia, and Nevada.

Meanwhile, the Pennsylvania gambling market remains active. According to data released by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB), in June 2025, the total revenue from various types of gambling and fantasy competitions in the state reached $544.6 million, a year-on-year increase of 15.4%, although it was a 9.5% decrease from May.

Specifically, the Hollywood Casino at Pennsylvania National Race Course reported revenues of $96.3 million in June, up 30% year-on-year; Valley Forge Casino Resort had revenues of $93.4 million, an increase of 46.3%; and Rivers Casino in Philadelphia earned $53.4 million, up 12.2% year-on-year.

The exit of Betfred from the U.S. market marks a shift in its global strategic focus, but Pennsylvania, as a significant gambling market, continues to show strong growth momentum.
