Sports data and technology giant Genius Sports announced a milestone cooperation agreement with Italy's top football league Serie A, obtaining exclusive official betting data and low-latency video streaming rights for Serie A, the Coppa Italia, and the Supercoppa Italiana, effective until the end of the 2028/29 season.
This authorization not only grants Genius Sports exclusive rights to distribute real-time data and live content to its global network of betting operators but also includes tracking data from Serie A matches, which can be widely used in scenarios such as broadcast enhancement, data analysis, and content production.
The core product is Genius Sports' AI-driven platform BetVision, which integrates live streaming, data statistics, and betting features, aiming to create an immersive, interactive viewing experience for sports betting users. BetVision was first launched in collaboration with the NFL, and this partnership marks its official entry into the European football arena.
Serie A CEO Luigi De Siervo stated: "Data and technology are reshaping the sports ecosystem. We are very proud to partner with Genius Sports, making it our sole authorized distributor of official data and international betting streaming rights. This will ensure that only officially certified data is commercialized, effectively protecting fan interests, maintaining fair play, and securing crucial revenue for clubs."
Genius Sports CEO Mark Locke also stated: "We are honored to partner with Serie A, one of the world's most prestigious leagues. This partnership consolidates our core position in the global sports betting market and further expands our top-tier rights portfolio that includes the NFL, the Premier League, and Serie A."
The agreement follows another exclusive partnership established by Genius Sports with the European Leagues Association (EL), covering over 8,000 professional football matches in 18 European countries, also utilizing Genius Sports' AI platform GeniusIQ for tracking, refereeing, and performance analysis.
This move further establishes Genius Sports' leading position in the global sports data and streaming technology sector.
