In 2024, the gambling market in the Netherlands is quite interesting. In terms of taxes, more than 1.03 billion euros were collected throughout the year, with physical casinos still being the major taxpayers. In the future, the tax rate will be increased to 37.8% by 2026.

Revenue from physical casinos fell by 5.5% to 1.3 billion euros, but lottery revenue grew by 3% to 1.5 billion euros, taking the lead. Performance in Segmented Areas
Revenue from physical slot machines fell by 5.4% to 654.4 million euros, but slot machines inside casinos slightly increased by 0.5%. Table game revenue fell by 9.3%. In terms of player numbers, arcades decreased by 15%, casinos by 0.3%, however, the number of slot machines in dining venues increased by 17.35%. In the online segment, sports betting revenue reached 352.6 million euros, showing significant growth.
Tax Revenue and Future Trends
The total tax revenue exceeded 1.03 billion euros, with physical casinos contributing the most at 396.1 million euros. Online casino tax revenue increased by 2.2% to 342 million euros. The future tax rate will increase from 34.2% in 2025 to 37.8% in 2026, posing a challenge for operators.
