How Mines Became a Hit Game: A Comprehensive Analysis of Its Viral Spread Through Live Streaming

Mines, a "minesweeper-style" gambling game originally launched by Stake Originals, quickly climbed the hot lists of major casinos and sparked a frenzy worldwide similar to the Crash era.

Why has it accumulated millions of active players in such a short time? Why has its spread been so rapid?

Mines is based on a 5×5 grid design, where players choose the betting amount and the number of mines (1-24) before each round begins. The system uses a Provably Fair mechanism + RNG algorithm to generate results.

Players click on cells, discover gems, and their multiplier increases. If a mine is discovered, the round ends and resets to zero, but players can choose to "cash out" their earnings at any time.

Mines, similar to the traditional #Crash's #PlaneGame, gives players the decision-making power, a design that has been validated by the plane game to meet the needs of modern players seeking fast-paced feedback.

Data shows that Stake Mines has more than 800,000 monthly active users across multiple platforms, with nearly 350 million betting instances per month.

Although precise data has not yet been released, combining the efforts of Spribe, Turbo Games, Hacksaw Gaming, and others in hundreds of crypto casinos, by early 2026, the entire Mines category (including all replicas) is conservatively estimated to have surpassed 1.5-2 million active players globally, especially in mobile-dominated markets like the Philippines, the Americas, and Southeast Asia.

In these markets, the proportion of fragmented high-frequency players is extremely high, thus this scale has nearly reached the cross-platform user numbers of the traditional Crash at its peak.

🔴 This similar control mechanism (still determined by RNG) is a core factor in the success of Mines and Crash types. Unlike Crash, which is primarily in the Western markets, Mines has rapidly grown in popularity in Asia, especially in the Philippines, India, Thailand, and other Southeast Asian countries.

Currently, the Mines ecosystem has also formed a category product line. After Stake Mines became a hit, several game developers quickly launched their own variant versions, making Mines a classic in lightweight gambling games.

🚩 Viral live streaming and social media spread

Like Crash, the spread of Mines also relies on the emotional tension of big wins. On platforms like Twitch, Kick, and YouTube, many streamers live stream their Mines gameplay.

By the end of 2025, top Kick streamer Trainwreckstv (a long-term partner of Stake) bet just $11 on Stake Original Mines during a live stream and hit a nearly $2 million jackpot (about $1.8 million+), with clips gaining millions of views on X and TikTok.

Another popular Kick streamer, Cabrzy (nicknamed "Mines King" by fans), bet 500 Canadian dollars during a live stream and won a multiplier of 1442.10, with winnings exceeding 700,000 Canadian dollars. He even tore off his shirt in excitement, and the live stream clip went viral on TikTok and X, becoming one of the most classic Mines content by the end of 2025.

Additionally, in early 2026, a player bet just $0.33 on Stake Mines and exploded a $1.45 million jackpot (4.41 million times), with the clip being shared and replayed live by several Kick streamers, further amplifying the viral spread effect.

Platform data shows that Mines has longer viewer interaction times in certain live rooms compared to Crash (Mines averages 10 minutes, Crash 7 minutes), with audiences participating in discussions and making choices more frequently.

After these big win events, the product value of Mines is being continuously deepened. Although Crash also often produces eye-catching content with high multipliers, data on average player retention, play duration, and replay rates reported by multiple operators show that Mines often outperforms Crash in player lifecycle metrics.

Mines may well become the new favorite in lightweight strategic gambling, retaining the fast pace and high return potential of Crash-type games, while enhancing the entertainment experience with stronger strategic choices and social interaction. As more manufacturers join the Mines ecosystem and live streaming matures, this category of games will compete with traditional Crash for trending status.
