Pakistani well-known YouTuber Ducky Bhai (real name Saad Ur Rehman, 27 years old) was arrested by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) at the Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore early Sunday morning. The police stated that he was placed on the temporary national identity card list by the immigration bureau while attempting to leave the country.
The authorities accused Rehman of promoting unauthorized gambling platforms through social media, including Binomo, 1xBet, and B9 Game, which are suspected of deceiving investors and not paying the promised returns. NCCIA claimed that Rehman gained financial benefits from these activities and even served as the "national manager" of one of the companies without approval.
The investigation began on June 13, stemming from public complaints that Rehman encouraged people to invest in illegal gambling projects. The complaint listed 27 related video links, some of which have been deleted. During the arrest, the police confiscated Rehman's mobile phone and found evidence of communications and suspicious transactions related to gambling promotion. NCCIA obtained a two-day detention to continue the investigation, and it is expected to submit a report to the court on August 19.
It is worth noting that Ducky Bhai had won the Best YouTuber Award at the Pakistan International Screen Awards in 2020 and 2021. Earlier this year, he was also granted bail in a case of reckless driving on the highway. This case is still under investigation by NCCIA.
